Description

As the leader in demographics research, Claritas presents population and household estimates available for areas affected by Hurricane Katrina. While comprehensive data on the storm's total impact is not yet available, Claritas provides the most complete picture currently available. Claritas' analysis not only examines areas directly impacted by the storm, such as New Orleans and the Mississippi coast, but also locations where evacuees now reside, such as Baton Rouge, LA and Houston, TX.

Using Claritas' analysis, you will be able to identify not only counties and parishes directly affected by Katrina's devastation, but also areas where storm evacuees moved. Claritas researchers have been able to generate a new set of estimates for population and household changes that offer a continuous view for the period of January 1, 2006 through July 1, 2006.
