The two-day event brought together leading national national experts, including scholars from Penn, to address the broader implications of events such as Hurrican Katrina for cities across the nation.  Panelist discussed five central themes:  reducing environmental vulnerability, re-establishing economic viability, the role of universities in the rebuilding process, responding to the needs of the displaced, and recreating a sense of place.
