The Department of History at the University of South Alabama, in collaboration with the Journal of American History will be sponsoring "Through the Eye of Katrina: The Past as Prologue?"--a multidisciplinary conference examining the history and culture of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast in the aftermath of one of the worst natural disasters to hit the United States.
The conference will take place from March 7-10 in Mobile, Alabama. All sessions will be held at the Museum of Mobile located in the heart of Mobile's historic district while the keynote address by Professor Lawrence Powell of Tulane University will be delivered at the Laidlaw Center for Performing Arts at the University of South Alabama.
